Because Foal's Paradise was one of the first breeders to commit to breeding with only the best mares, using a very careful selection process. Each Foal's Paradise broodmare must have an impeccable pedigree, outstanding individual athletic ability, excellent conformation and intelligent and sensible mind. Each mare has exceptional individual talent, is a champion in her own right, and is pursuing her own athletic career.

M. Ecloir
M. Ecloir, Foal's Paradise's 1994 Dutch keur mare by Amethist out of J. Eclair (Boreas), was the No. 1 star mare nationally at the 1997 NA/WPN keurings, was twice the East Coast Breeders Champion, was the 1999 PVDA Grand Champion, Mature Horse Champion and Mare Champion, was the 1997 Dressage at Devon Reserve Grand Champion and Young Horse Champion, and was the 1996 PVDA Reserve Grand Champion and Young Horse Champion, and earned her keur status in 1999. Her first foal, Regalia, was No. 1 foal nationally at the NA/WPN keurings, and won the fillies of 1998 at the 1998 PVDA Sporthorse Breed Show. She also placed 4th in the 4 Year Old and Older Mares class at Dressage at Devon, 2002. M. Ecloir's 2002 colt, Vivace, also won the Colts of 2002 Class at Dressage at Devon.
Neither could compete with their dam, however. M. Ecloir came out of the broodmare field to win the Broodmares class, win the Mare Championship, win the Mature Horse Championship, be crowned Grand Champion at Dressage at Devon 2002. In addition, she won the USDF Breeders Championship!

1993 Imported KWPN Star Mare
Lusindra is an international sport mare imported from Holland. She earned her "star" as a three year old, has had one foal, and is now working second level dressage. She is by the internationally acclaimed Boreas, out of Holland's champion mare Casindra, who is by the preferant stallion Lucky Boy XX. Lucy has exceptional, powerful, regular gaits and a strong mind. In 1998, she produced Foal's Paradise Farm's Raison d'Etre, by the imported KWPN stallion Litigator. "Raisin" was awarded first premium by the NA/WPN, who praised his elastic, uphill gaits. Raisin was second in the nation in the NA/WPN auxiliary foalbook keurings. Lusindra foaled Talisman, a lovely colt by imported, approved KWPN stallion Le Byou P on June 25, 2000.

Joyride is a 1991 imported sport elite KWPN mare by Olympic Cocktail out of a Grunnewald (Hann) mare. Cocktail is in the top 3 sires in the world for producing offspring at advanced international levels of dressage, and was listed in 2000 as the number one KWPN stallion for producing dressage horses. Joyride earned her sport elite status at Z level dressage in Holland. Joyride was Reserve Mare Champion at the 1999 ESDCTA Sporthorse Breed Show. On May 22, 1999 she produced Sushi, a lovely filly by Darwin. Sushi was the winner of the Fillies of 1999 class at the 1999 ESDCTA Sporthorse Breed Show. Joyride, with Paula Kierkegaard, was Third Level Champion and Fourth Level Champion at Pleasant Hollow Dressage on August 13, 2000.

Granata is an international sport mare imported from Germany by Gotthardsen out of a Bolero mare. She has exceptional gaits and an easygoing disposition. She was born Hanoverian, but has been approved into the KWPN marebook after having received the equivalent of "star" status at an NA/WPN keuring. She is also an approved ISR/Oldenburg Premium mare. In 1999, she produced Foal's Paradise Farm's Socrates, an NA/WPN first premium foal, by the approved NA/WPN stallion Idocus. In 1999, Socrates was tied for sixth in the nation in the NA/WPN main foalbook keurings. This foal has stamped Granata as a producer of exceptional athletic sporthorses.

She also was Reserve Young Horse Champion, Filly Champion and first in the 2 year old fillies at the 1999 ESDCTA Sporthorse Breed Show. She was third place in the Suitable to be a Dressage Horse at the Morven Park Sporthorse Breed Show in June, 2000. She was fourth in Suitable to Become a Dressage Horse and Mares Under Saddle at Dressage at Devon, September 2000.

"Lindy" is an imported 1997 KWPN filly by Don Primaire. Don Primaire is by Donnerhall, out of a Pik Bube mare, one of the most successful dressage combinations of all time. She is out of a star mare by Le Mexico (keur), out of a keur mare. She has her sire's dramatic black color, long, elegant lines and striking, uphill trot. Lindy placed second in the Mares Under Saddle at the Morven Park Sporthorse Breed Show in June 2000, and second in Suitable to Become a Dressage Horse at Dressage at Devon, September 2000.
